Zoom Works Well with Yoga

60 Minute Rapid Kundalini Yoga Practice

This is Somatic (de-stressing) Yoga without any spiritual or religious teachimg. A compressed format - usually about 30 minutes of a yoga kriya (the thing that makes Kundalini Yoga work so well!) followed by up to 15 minutes deep relaxation (yoga nidra and maybe Tibetan singing bowl sounds) then a meditative breathing exercise.

Working From Home - Risk of RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury)

With huge numbers of people now working from home the risk of RSI is increasing. I am an ex-sufferer of RSI who got totally better, despite there being plenty of people who say there is no complete cure. Before I discovered Kundalini Yoga lots of things helped but it was yoga freeing up my body (and mind) that fixed it totally for me.

Details are on my RSI Recovery Page.

Working From Home - Psychological Effects

There is an increase in anxiety and other stress related problems as we are in the midst of a health, economic and employment crisis. Plenty of studies show yoga helps particularly with Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Now is a very good time to seek out the de-stressing effects of yoga.

This is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

This is suitable for beginners and all levels but if you are new to Kundalini Yoga it's best if we have a chat first especially if you have any sort pf psychological medical condition.

Wim Hoff based practice and 2 other breathing techniques. This is a daily practice Heather Mason designed for herself and has shared.

Kundalini Yoga

Yoga delivers benefits for the mind and the body - it is something more than normal exercise. Kundalini Yoga uses techniques which are designed to be fast acting.

Kundalini Yoga - 3HO Style

After years of rumours its now being confirmed that Yogi Bhajan who set up the 3HO program of Kundalini Yoga which has spread around the world was a corrupt abuser and set up the organisation in part to create a space in which he could be have unchallenged power over people. He died in 2004 and it has taken the #metoo movement and a book called Premka - White Bird in a Golden Cage written by Pamela Dyson for the organisations involved to finally face up to this abuse and try to deal with it. That is in process now and will be difficult. There are probably people still alive who were in the 'Yogi's inner circle who either participated in or covered up the abuse. There are doubless numerous unknown victims still suffering and I think it quite possible that other centres of yoga around the world are also corrupted and that if so that victims will feel safe in coming forward. I belong to a group of people who didn't buy into the religious and 'spiritual' side of his world but saw the yoga as powerful, effective and useful. I am still struggling to accept that while the yoga itself separated from the so called 'spiritual' teachings is such a brilliant mind/body de-stressing technique the motives of this teacher and probably others have been so bad (or mixed?). The lesson is that being 'spiritual' does not give a person any special rights. Right now I will continue to teach the yoga and support people who can disentangle it from this appalling legacy and most importantly help victims in any way I can and to be sensitive to what may trigger them.

What Can Yoga Do For Me?

The benefits of Kundalini Yoga can be immense. The more work you put in the more you gain - not so different from many things in life. The first level benefits are:-

More intensive practice helps with more serious problems

Health Benefits Related to Stress

Stress puts our system out of balance. Tense muscles and an over-excited nervous system are the most obvious imbalances but other systems are affected too such as the respiratory (breathing) system , endocrine (glandular) system and lymphatic system (removal of toxins).

Yoga affects us at a deeper level than normal exercise, it stimulates these systems into enhanced operation using an understanding of the relationships between them. This gives an all over improved sense of well being. Health problems that are caused by or made worse by stress can be alleviated by yoga.

I used yoga to recover from RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury).
